Looking For Parts For You RV?
Brought to you by usa on the road
But can't find them? What if I told you there was a way to take a broken,
worn out, failing part and make an exact (that is correct! Exact!) copy of the
part?
Say the side panel in your GMC is deteriorated or cracked. There are NO
replacement parts! The left side panel in my 1975 GMC Palm Beach is cracked (I
have patched it, don't know how long that will last) and has about ten holes cut
in it for various switches, speakers, and so on by the previous owners.
I want to replace it with a new one. The problem is that the part is no
longer available, not new, not used. (I have called a lot of
reclamation
yards in the US of A).
Now what if you or a company had the tool that could make an exact duplicate
of the panel? What if we banned together and decided we wanted to make high
quality exact copies of our needed parts?
We could you know. There is a new product that can make small to medium
replica plastic parts that in turn can be used to make a mold or given to a
machinist to use as a template to make the part.
What is this miracle machine? NextEngine 3D Scanner and a special printer
that will make the part.
Suppose -
- I have a part that is no longer in production and there are no spares
available.
- I scan the part, then with the 3D software program I fix the areas that are
worn, broken, or missing.
- Then I send that 3D image to the printer.
- The printer makes a duplicate part made from plastic.
- I then take the plastic model and make a form that can be made in to a mold
that can then contain the material that will make the actual replacement part.
You can see how Jay Leno uses this to make a valve for one of his Steam Cars

Now we are getting closer to sci-fi every day! Scan something and make an
exact duplicate. Amazing!
