Our 1975 Palm Beach

About the Owners

Brought to you by usa on the road

Why we built this web site -

When my wife and I were newly weds we really didn't have the funds or income to own a motor home. But when we were out shopping sometimes we would go look at RV's. This was in the mid 1970's and Recreation Vehicle's were extremely popular.

We were stationed at Hill AFB, close to Ogden Utah. My wife is from North Wales, UK. She found the US a new and wonderful place and we would travel around our corner of the US. But alas we very rarely stayed over night not having the funds to rent a motel room always returning home at the end of the day.

As I was in the US Air Force and when we decided to go back to the UK we considered buying a 1976 GMC Glenbrook. That was a very nice Recreation Vehicle but lacking the income to support the vehicle in the UK we took a 1970 El Camino instead.

I grew up in Wyoming, my Dad was in the construction business and we lived in a trailer until I was a Junior in High School. We traveled extensively in the North West US. Mainly in the Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Utah. So I am not new to the travel and make do of a mobile life. How ever a motor home is not the same as a 12 ft wide trailer that is 50 ft long and takes a special truck to tow it. Just getting the trailer ready to move was a two day task (even with three teenage boys to do the heavy work!). And Mom always took all the dishes out of the cupboards because she lost a set of China when Dad had to stop fast. Loads of stories but not here.  :)

Now we have the funds to buy a Recreation Vehicle and our choice is a semi-restored 1975 GMC Palm Beach.

This web site is about the RV, what we are doing to finish the restoration and customize it. Where we go in the RV and the trials and tribulations we in counter along the way.

Come by often we are sure you will enjoy the articles and you may even find something to do to your RV!

Brought it home! 1975 GMC Palm Beach.

We are now the proud owners of a 1975 GMC Palm Beach! And ownership of a RV Does Have It's Privileges - :)

Part of the plan for this RV and the web site is for the web site to support the RV. This web site has the potential to generate enough income to keep the RV on the road and allow us to travel with out draining our bank account. To find out how I plan on doing this have a look at this web page, you too could be RV'n at little or no cost!
